The Apple Company has already manufactured a wide variety of products. They have their Mac computers, iPods, iPod touch, their iPhone with a lot of versions, and now they have their new type of product which is the iPad, the iPad 2, and the just released New iPad.

Due to the innovations that the Apple Company have made to their products over the years, we tend to get confused with the new features of each product that they have released to the public. We may know what is an iPod and an iPhone, but what do we really know about the iPad?

For one, iPad was said to be a bigger version of the iPod touch but only that it has an operating system similar to the iPhone. However, having the same operating system with the iPhone doesn’t mean that we can use it for calling or texting other people. On the other hand, there was a green bar that has been appearing on the iPad that reads “Touch to return to call” on the iPad emulator screen. This has confused a lot of people, wondering if the iPad could be used for calling. But maybe it was just a mistake.

The iPad doesn’t support Flash while browsing through the web. This is because Steve Jobs thought that the Flash feature can make the web browsing slowly and can be a security risk for the device. However, there were reports showing that Apple was to be pairing up with Adobe. If the iPad has the Flash feature, surely it will be considered as the best web browsing device. But the Apple Company still doesn’t seem to want the Flash feature. And their competitors are using this feature to have an advantage against them.

Though it may not be the best web browsing device yet, iPad has the feature to be one of the best e-book reader devices. It has a wide screen that is a great fit for reading and an app called the iBooks. The Apple also has sufficient sources of downloading or purchasing the e-books. Moreover, Amazon has announced that there is now an app of the Kindle for the iPad.

Since the Apple iPad is somewhat an improved iPod touch, it surely has the feature of playing music and movies. But people usually wonder if they could play music and movies other than iTunes. Other than iTunes, YouTube is still the only alternative yet.

A lot of people wonder if the iPad can be used to make and edit documents as good as table computers. With the iPad, you can open the documents sent to you through email attachments. Apple has an iWork suite that contains apps of pages, keynote, and numbers which lets you open and edit documents even when it is in Microsoft format or pdf files.

There is not much of a problem with the internet connection because it can easily catch up WiFi connections. And there is another version of the iPad that can connect both Wi-Fi and 3G. There are also several accessories for the iPad that can help you with printing, transferring files through the USB, and a wire for projecting to a TV or stereo.Most people don’t consider iPad as a computer since it lacks features of Mac computer. But it is still one device that is close to a computer.
